Not sure that you analogy of Lincoln and Buchanan makes much sense because of how irrelevant it is. Show me some tangible information and then I will attempt to consider your point. Until then I think that Lincoln would be spoken of much more highly. Buchanan was a supporter of slave owners rights and Lincoln was obviously against them. I think we would all agree that slavery is wrong and therefore would think much more highly of Lincoln.

Again I am not sure that this analogy makes much sense either. After reading your blog I can maybe see where it makes sense to you but I would think that a large statistic of the world would agree that Churchill and Roosevelt would have received more glowing marks that Hitler and Stalin. They were not out attempting to socialize the system and wipe out a whole segment of the world population.

Now obviously you and are not going to agree nor are we going to sway the others opinion. I am just proud that we live in a country where we can voice these opinions freely without any censorship from our government (for now).

Abraham Lincoln gets mentioned favorably much more frequently than James Buchanan. Do you suppose that historians are biased in favor of Lincoln?

To carry the point to an even more absurd level, are historians "in the bag" for Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt because they are treated more favorably than Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin?

I don't think that a simple count of negative and positive stories is sufficient to prove bias.

Cowpens is in Gaffney. It is right at an hour drive for you down 26 then on 74. It is very nice and the trail is really easy. Only about 1.5 miles. Benches all along the way for breaks. Check it out on Jan 17 the do a reenactment of the battle there.
