I have been so busy here lately with the day job and side jobs. Candice and I have also become more and more involved with our church. The family time has taken a hit lately for some good family time so Friday night I came up with a full day of plans. We started out Saturday morning with a trip to Wal-Mart and Sam's Club. Spent waaaaaaaaay to much money at Sam's but it has been a while since we had been. After we got home and unloaded Candice packed a lunch for everyone including my sister Brianna and Minka our dog and we went to Cowpens Battlefield up in Gaffney. Wow it sure was pretty up there. All the leaves changing color. We ate and drove around the loop a little bit and then got out and walked on the trail that goes around the battlefield. It was a nice 1.2 mile walk. We stopped and talked to the various people along the way. There was a nice group that we ran into twice that was being lead by a Ranger. Both times they commented on how pretty our dog was. We stopped in the visitor center slash museum. It was cool looking at the artifacts and learning more about he battle. There was a really nice Ranger that worked in there and he invited us to come back to the various activities throughout the year. He also gave the kids some stickers. The kids did a really good job so the got some gun powder as a snack. Ok ok it is actually like Pixie Sticks but was packaged like gun powder. We finished the hike and came home and chilled for a bit then went on the back deck and built a nice fire in the fire pit and toasted marshmellows. After the kids went to bed Candice and I unwound with some cheese, crackers and summer sausage with a glass of wine. Finished off the night watching a great movie "August Rush". It was really a great day.

One of the best days...and weekend ever!!!
Glad you were there :)
cowpens? Where is it? I have heard of it. How is the hike?
Cowpens is in Gaffney. It is right at an hour drive for you down 26 then on 74. It is very nice and the trail is really easy. Only about 1.5 miles. Benches all along the way for breaks. Check it out on Jan 17 the do a reenactment of the battle there.
