Wow What A Day

Yesterday was such a good day. I know that I probably gained about 10lbs. At work during the month that your birthday is in you get to pick a menu for a lunch and everyone eats together. Well as most of you know my birthday was last weekend but I share this month with a coworker so we combine ours together. The two things she requested were fried okra and lemon meringue pie and told me to pick the rest. So I started with marinating some chicken in Italian dressing for a day and then we had scalloped potatoes and green bean casserole. Good stuff! I will admit it. I had two HUGE servings. Yum. Well then last night we hosted our home group at our house. The way we do ours is like a pot luck. The host serves the main dish everyone else brings a side. Well last night we had chicken marsala, green bean casserole, macaroni pie and think there was something else but I do not remember. Man I ate good yesterday.

Home group went well last night. For those of you that do not know what our home groups are about let me tell you. Every week for six weeks our church has split us up in groups and we meet once a week. This week was our second week. We hang out for a bit and fellowship, eat (oh yeah, discuss Sunday's service and then hang for a little while more. We have a pretty good group and everyone gets along well and contributes well to the discussion. In our group is of course Candice & I, Kim & Josh, David & April and Bailey. Candice did most of the leading last night and did a great job covering the topics, bringing in questions and keep us on task. Good job! The good thing about our group is everyone has kids so we opt to not have babysitters and just bring our kids. They are all right around the same age and play well together. We wrapped up last night and Kim went out to her car and found the battery to be dead. Well that started an adventure for me to find some jumper cables. I have one set but I had left them at work. David had some but they were in their other car. My neighbor down the street that has everything doesn't even own a set. I goto another neighbors home (all this at 9pm mind you) and he says he has two sets. So we go out to the car and he can not find either one. Has asked one of his guest who was at their house and luckily they had a set. Go back to the house hook them up to David's car and his battery was not quite big enough so hooked it up to the explorer and Kim's car fired up and she went on her way.

Got to bed late because we watched "The Kingdom" with Jamie Fox (great movie) and that made this morning hard but here I am.
