Losing Our Freedom Of Speech

There was an article I was reading today (click here to read the full article) about a group in Texas called "Young Conservatives of Texas" at Lone Star College-Tomball. They were passing out a flyer to fellow students that were bullet points on gun safety. It was tongue and check but was at all offensive. The flyer listed jocular gun safety tips such as "If your gun misfires, never look down the barrel to inspect it" -- "Always keep your gun pointed in a safe direction, such as at a Hippy or a Communist" -- and "No matter how excited you are about buying your first gun, do not run around yelling 'I have a gun! I have a gun!'" They are now being threatened with probation and de-recognition. Excuse me but this is total bullcrap. I do not know where this school thinks they get to right to prohibit distribution of this flyer and silence these students for voicing their opinion. If they want to pull this then I say pull their public funding and they can attempt to run as a private school and then they can do as they wish.
